It’s a good idea. It helps new climbers get less freaked out but still feel like they went to the top of a route. I’ve seen some this Pretty Zocoshi I’m So Excited I’m So Scared Shirt. Or they have some weirdly high-grade route. That’s cool, all the centers I’ve been to just have a pulley rigged up over the reception desk… Or the tallest staff member just holds the rope up! Great job! Run your own race! Climbers are generally a good bunch. We love all victories! Yes!!! Such good words to keep in mind. “Run your own race”. Everyone we’ve met so far has been so kind, happy, and helpful. As you go up the wall, remember that you’re not getting further off the ground, you’re only getting closer to the top!

I’m brand new too and I’m so glad you posted this! I have no fear of heights, but I do have a fear of gyms and judgment. So that was what I overcame just the other day. I had a friend bring his brother on a trip with us once… I knew he was green but had no idea he had NEVER climbed before until we had already at the bottom of the black canyon of the Gunnison and the only way out was a fully Trad 5 pitch 5.8. He made it up but I sure as hell scared the crap out of him. still climbing today though. Haha!! Good one. No. Not yet. I’m still a little terrified of going higher. This was a training 101 wall. Shrugs, had to start somewhere.
