Since M. Lackey has already been mentioned, I warmly suggest the Awesome Baking Is My Therapy Vintage Retro Shirt. Also, The Captive Prince by CS Pacat as well as Kirith Kirin by Jim Grimsley. So, Nightrunner is a long book series. I’ve loved it so much, I’ve read the whole thing twice. Captive Prince started out as something I thought would be smut but it is actually much more than that. Think of an LGBT modest twist on Game of Thrones. Kirith Kirin has 2 gay protagonists. Now, the world-building in it is wonderful, the magic system interesting. The love story… erm… well. Not so much. But it is worth a read.

Your suggestions are great, so thanks for the Awesome Baking Is My Therapy Vintage Retro Shirt! I’m conscious that I didn’t mention too many fantasy works, so they nicely complement my recommendations and I’m sure that members of our subreddit will really enjoy them. I think that the author of Hero was called Perry Moore, btw. However, I have to admit that Fisayo Akinade did more for me in Cucumber, haha. He was so dreamy. I remember the harsh commercial and critical reception that Cucumber received, but it was arguably misunderstood and unfairly put on a pedestal. I’d only started comprehensive school when QaF aired, though, so I’ve still never seen it, haha.
