As someone who’s never spoken a “gendered language” perhaps you can answer this question. All Slavic languages have genders too. I think English is the exception in this. At least with European languages. Also, Vatikan City would be male or female depending on whether you call it “Vatican City” (the city is female) or “Vatikan State” (the state is male), or just “Vatikan”.
